Spektrum+ Smart Hub will only work on 2.4GHz WiFi. 2.4GHz WiFi connection offers a longer coverage range than a 5.0GHz WiFi connection.
You need both. WiFi is only needed when setting up your app, setting up a hub and setting up voice assistants.
